30A Songwriter’s Festival – Held during the Martin Luther King Jr holiday weekend, the 30A Songwriters festival features 160+ artists across 20 venues in South Walton including marquee performers such as Jackson Browne, Graham Nash and Sam Bush.

Enjoy the fun of an old-fashioned Chautauqua in charming, historic DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Founded as a companion “winter assembly” of the New York Chautauqua, the Florida Chautauqua provided an opportunity for education through classes and workshops, craft activities, lectures by prominent speakers of the day, and a chance for solitude amidst life’s busy days.


Seaside Community Yard Sale – Peruse handcrafted and eclectic wares from 100+ local and regional vendors at this bi-annual community sale hosted in both February and October in the Seaside amphitheater.

Valentine Tour of Homes – Tour some of South Walton’s finest homes at the Valentine Tour of Homes benefitting the Cultural Arts Association of Walton County. Enjoy a rare peek inside architectural masterpieces from select 30A communities.

Sandestin Gumbo Festival – Gumbo lovers take note! The Sandestin Gumbo festival brings together popular area chefs for a friendly competition awarding the best gumbo recipe of the year in the Village of Baytowne Wharf.

Mystic Krewe of Arfeous Mardi Gras Dog Parade – Celebrate the New Orleans spirit at the popular Krewe of Arfeous parade in Sandestin where costumed canines parade through Baytowne alongside Mardi Gras-themed wagons and golf carts.

Seaside Half Marathon and 5K Run – An annual sellout event, the Seaside Half Marathon and 5K brings together passionate runners of all skill levels in a light hearted competition in the charming Seaside community.


Spring Break – As the snowbirds of winter depart, a fresh energy fills the area as both families and college students are welcomed along the South Walton and Destin coasts during breaks from school typically beginning in March and ending in mid-April.

30A St. Patrick’s Parade Festival – 30A turns green each chair with the annual parade and festival featuring floats from local business parading from Blue Mountain Beach to festival headquarters in the Gulf Place town center.

Irish Fest & Grogg March at HarborWalk Village – Irish music, dancing and games fill the lively HarborWalk Village in Destin at the Irish Street Fest and Grogg March celebrating all things Irish in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

Run with the Dogs 5K – Hosted by the City of Destin Parks & Recreation Department, the Run with the Dogs 5K Run/Walk offers pet lovers the chance to bring Fido along for the race.

Seaside Neighborhood School Half Marathon & 5K  – Last year it atrracted more than 4,000 participants.


Sandestin Wine Festival – Sample a wide array of top wines while enjoying a culinary pavilion, live music and more at this four-day festival in the Village of Baytowne Wharf designed to please wine and beach lovers alike.

The South Walton Beaches Wine and Food Festival – Featuring four days of exciting wine and food tastings, live entertainment, tasting seminars from national experts and lifestyle stations, this action packed festival showcases more than 800 exceptional wines.

Emerald Coast Volleyball Week – Held on beautiful Okaloosa Island, the Emerald Coast Volleyball Week at The Boardwalk is one of the largest four-player beach volleyball tournaments in the United States.

Seabreeze Jazz Festival – Panama City Beach gets bigger and better every Spring.


ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival – Honor moms with a visit to ArtsQuest hosted over Mother’s Day weekend with a juried art show, live music, demonstrations and themed activites. Preview the work of over 130 featured artists while enjoying a family-friendly celebration of the arts.

Grayton Beach Kids Fishing Tournament – Gather on Grayton Beach with the family for a morning of friendly fishing competition designed for little ones at the South Walton Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association’s annual kids fishing tournament.


Digital Graffiti – The first event of its kind, Digital Graffiti is a projection art festival where digital and video artists project their work on the stark white walls of Alys Beach. A must experience event where the town truly comes to life with original creations.

Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic – Professional and aspiring anglers gather at the Sandestin Marina for a chance to win over $1.4 million in cash prizes at this ‘Big Money Tournament’. Additional festivities are offered for spectators of all ages.

Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival – This raucous festival features a parade and festive celebration leading up to the invasion of Pirate Captain Billy Bowlegs and his crewe in the Santa Rosa Sound in Fort Walton Beach. Fun for all!


Rags to Riches Regatta – Brightly colored sailboats light up the coastline in a beautiful display during this morning race from Grayton Beach to Seagrove Beach in honor of Independence Day. Gather on the beach to cheer on your favorite boat.

4th of July Celebrations – Families from across the country make an annual pilgrimage to the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast to commemorate America’s birthday with all day beach gatherings capped off with evening fireworks. Area parades and patriotic celebrations make this a great week to be at the beach.

The 4th of July parade in Seaside gets more elaborate every year, while the parade in Grayton Beach is just a bunch of folks being crazy. Strolling on the beach on the night of the 4th, you’ll see fireworks all along the gentle curve from Destin to Panama City. In Sandestin, experience the sights and sounds of the 4th of July. Baytowne Wharf hosts a variety of children’s activities throughout the weekend, along with live music and, to end the Red, White & Baytowne events, the Village presents Independence Fireworks Spectacular over the Lagoon!


Sandestin Triathlon – Over 700 athletes compete each year in a half mile gulf swim, a 20-mile bike ride and a four-mile run through the community of Sandestin. Funds raised during this event benefit the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast.

Emerald Coast Poker Run – The Emerald Coast Poker Run unites boaters and poker lovers in one of the largest summer poker runs found across the country. All proceeds benefit area youth organizations, and this fun filled event kicks off a full week of boating fun.


Baytowne Art Walk – The Village of Baytowne Wharf on (Fri-Sun) during Labor Day weekend. Stroll the streets and enjoy the art, live music and children’s activities throughout the Village in the heart of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Free admission.


South Walton Fashion Week – Fashionistas gather for a week long collection of high end fashion events highlighting designers and boutiques of South Walton as well as a regional fashion design competition, an “Emerging Designers” runway show and model talent from across the Southeast.

Seaside Community Yard Sale – Peruse handcrafted and eclectic wares from 100+ local and regional vendors at this bi-annual community sale hosted in both February and October in the Seaside amphitheater.

Rosemary Beach Uncorked – A distinctive food and wine festival featuring delicious cuisine from the outstanding dining establishments of Rosemary Beach paired with select fine wines and a seven-piece New Orleans style jazz band parading around town.

Noche de Los Muertos – A grown up celebration of the “Night of the Dead” at upscale Alys Beach brings together partiers of all types with wild costumes, world-class DJs and dancing set amongst the striking backdrop of the Caliza Pool.

Destin Fishing Rodeo – A month-long fishing tournament features more than 30,000 anglers vying for over $100,000 in prizes at this beloved annual event highlighting and celebrating the fishing community of Destin.

Destin Seafood Festival – Going strong for almost 40 years, the Destin Seafood Festival celebrates the strong community spirit and unique culture of Destin with food, music and more during this three-day fall event.

Destin Festival of the Arts – A 20+ year tradition, the Destin Festival of the Arts presented by the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation is a two-day celebration of art, music, food and fun. Over 100 artists from across the United States and Europe showcase their work and compete for prizes.

Rosemary Uncorked – Fine wines and good food from Rosemary Beach’s excellent restaurants. This wine festival one sells out every time.


Taste of the Beach – A wine and culinary extravaganza, Taste of the Beach includes wine tastings, dinner events and a charity auction designed to showcase area venues and restaurants during the first weekend of November.

Seeing Red Wine Festival – Held in the town center of Seaside, the Seeing Red Wine Festival is a weekend long celebration of fine wines from around the world with dozens of tasting tents, food vendors and additional festivities.

Flutterby Arts Festival – Learn about the annual migration of the Monarch butterfly at this child-centered arts festival in Rosemary Beach where participants can create their own butterfly wings, see performances, sample goodies and much more.

Telluride MountainFilm Festival – Enjoy outdoor-themed documentaries and short films projected amongst the stunning background of the WaterColor amphitheater by Western Lake in this fall-themed festival complete with s’mores, bonfires and much more.

30A 10K and Fun Run – Earn your Thanksgiving feast by participating in the 30A 10K and Fun Run held on Thanksgiving morning. A fundraising race event for area charities, the 30A 10K and Fun Run includes a fall festival at 30Avenue with family activities and live music the day before the race.

South Walton Holiday Parade and Seaside Turn on the Town – Parade, Santa Arrives, turning on the lights on the Christmas Tree and the Town.

Christmas Reflections  – Spectacular light display with over 4 1/2 million lights surrounding beautiful Lake DeFuniak in Historic Downtown DeFuniak Springs.


Eden State Gardens Christmas Candlelight Tour –  Located in Point Washington, a stunning illuminated old-fashioned Christmas and entertainment by The Friends of Eden Gardens, Florida State Parks, and citizens of Point Washington.

New Year’s Eve Celebrations – all over South Walton and along the Emerald Coast, including bashes and fireworks in Seaside, Rosemary Beach, and in Sandestin at Baytowne Wharf. Enjoy live music in the Events Plaza all night long leading up to firework’s extravaganza over the lagoon at midnight. Pier Park in PCB is also known for its New Year’s Eve celebration with live music entertainment and beach ball drop.
